Here's
some interesting and fun facts about Headroom
How long have you been
in business?
Our Answer - Since January
2004.
Are you financially
stable and debt free?
Our Answer – We have
thrived with the growth of entrepreneurial businesses
and the expansion of larger companies looking
to improve their brand strategies and increase
their image visibility. We partner with business
developers from a wide range of industries who
look to Headroom Studios for expertise in Web
site, collateral design materials and other creative
print pieces, i.e. packaging.
Are you local or national?
Our Answer – A third of our clients are national with an increasing number of local companies branching out beyond the region. Our core clients are based in the Sacramento and the San Francisco Bay Area. Most of our clients like to meet face-to-face but we also work with many clients virtually (telephone and digital communications.) In the case of our Web site client, Hide & Chic Italian Villas, we can only dream of working in Milan. So, we gladly phone, text message and email.
How many years have
you been building websites?
Our Answer – Headroom
Studios was founded in 2004 specifically to fulfill
the niche market of one-stop creative and technology
development including design, architecture, programming,
code and hosting. Laszlo Stribik, Owner and Creative
Lead, developed his first website 10 years ago.
The programmers have an average of five years
of experience building Web sites. Our Project
Director has 25 years of experience in overseeing
projects from start to finish and quality communications
between the design staff and client.
How many online solutions
have you developed?
Our Answer – The Headroom team has created design and programmed 60+ sites since 2004. Our sites have garnered local design awards for Web excellence. In addition, we have multimedia projects and 40+ print graphic design projects (logos, brochures, mailers, packaging, etc.) We currently average completing 4-5 Web sites a month—enough to provide a broad range of experience and still allow us to treat each client’s project as though it was the only one.”

“I like to be kept informed. How often do you keep your clients’ updated?"
Our Answer - In addition to call-as-needed, our team facilitates project communications via three, primary mechanisms:
A. Review Points – Each project has multiple milestones where the Client reviews and approves the design, programming and content either digitally or face-to-face.
B. Weekly Status Reports – Headroom Studios provides the client with a review of the week’s accomplishments and work in-progress every Friday.
C. Project Management - Headroom Studios uses a sophisticated design management system to administer the progress of all projects based on creative and programming assignments, time lines and budget requirements
Do I own the code used
to create my website?
Our Answer - After we have
received final payment for your project, you will
own all the end files used to create your site.
We normally protect proprietary source files that
may contain trade secrets such as Flash “.fla”
files, Photoshop “.psd” files. Clients
generally don’t need these files; if you
do, we can negotiate special terms for you to
license the rights to the source files.
After I decide I want
you to build my Web site or create print materials
what happens next?
Our Answer - You will receive
a work order contract that will map out your deliverables,
prices/payment schedule, timelines and project
parameters. Once the work order is signed and
sent back to us and the retainer is paid, Laz
Stribik or the Project Director will set up a
meeting or conference call to begin formalizing
detailed project requirements and specifications.
How long will it take to develop
my site?
Our Answer - Site development time lines depend on the project’s scope. We typically recommend anywhere between 5-8 weeks. Each project is dependent on variables such as who will write or provide the content or are the photos ready or do we need to shoot them with our photographer. Navigation depth is the single most important component. It is essential that each site is customized. No two sites are the same. Advanced sites, particularly those with extensive programming, require anywhere from 10 weeks on up. If you need a custom site fast, we offer rush services for an additional cost. FastTrack Web sites take 2-4 weeks from the time we have your site information. Add 1-2 weeks for a FastTrack e-commerce version.
Will I be required to provide
materials based on a schedule you provide for
me?
Our Answer - Yes. In order to meet your predetermined finish date, we will need all the written text and photos and your current Web site design and programming files; that is, if this is a make-over design and functionality project. We require that everything be in our hands before starting the project. Without the content or files, the Web site’s development will be delayed. Note: If the content is not delivered in accordance with the proposal’s time line, you will not be charged for Headroom’s down time. We will re-task personnel to other projects. We will develop a new time line for you once the project is back on track with your content and images.
Are you able to provide Flash
animation?
Our Answer – Yes, we
have experienced Flash programmers on staff that
can create basically any kind of animation you
desire. You can view samples in the motion category,

Are you able to integrate streaming
audio and video into your websites?
Our Answer - Yes. We have
specialists trained in audio/video editing and
compression.
Do I have to host with you?
Our Answer – No. Typically,
we recommend that most of our clients host with
us because we have standardized our servers to
have all the services that may be needed for development.
Over 50% of our clients do host with us. Some
clients choose to keep their existing hosting
companies and some host on-site. We can work with
any scenario.
Do you handle my domain
name registration or transfer? Do you charge extra
for this?

name used for my site?

the domain name for you, ownership will be transferred
